Anti-stimulator of interferon response cGAMP interactor 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the STING1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 379 amino acid residues and a mass of 42.2 kDa. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the STING protein family, it is known to be involved with innate immune responses. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination, sumoylation, palmitoylation and phosphorylation. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in STING-associated vasculopathy. Other names for this target antigen include N-terminal methionine-proline-tyrosine-serine plasma membrane tetraspanner, endoplasmic reticulum IFN stimulator, endoplasmic reticulum interferon stimulator, and stimulator of interferon genes protein. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
