Anti-prosaposin like 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the PSAPL1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 521 amino acid residues and a mass of 56.6 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. It is believed to activate the lysosomal degradation of sphingolipids. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Other names for this target antigen include proactivator polypeptide-like 1 and prosaposin-like protein 1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species.
