Anti-H2B.W histone 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the H2BW1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 175 amino acid residues and a mass of 19.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is reported to have testis-specific expression. It is a member of the Histone H2B protein family. Other names for this target antigen include histone H2B type W-T and H2B histone family member W, testis specific. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse and rat species.
