Anti-SEPTIN1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein septin 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 372 amino acid residues and a mass of 42.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed at high levels in lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues. It is a member of the Septin GTPase protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include LARP, differentiation 6 (deoxyguanosine triphosphate triphosphohydrolase), peanut-like protein 3, serologically defined breast cancer antigen NY-BR-24, and DIFF6. SEPTIN1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species.
