Anti-POF1B actin binding protein antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the POF1B gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 589 amino acid residues and a mass of 68.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell junctions. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is known to play an important role in the organization of epithelial monolayers by regulating the actin cytoskeleton. The gene encoding this protein is implicated in Premature ovarian failure. Other names for this target antigen include premature ovarian failure protein 1B, premature ovarian failure, 1B, and protein POF1B. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
