Anti-prp-19 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target prp-19 is a known alias name of the protein pre-mRNA processing factor 19, encoded by the PRPF19 gene in humans. This 504-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a ubiquitin-protein ligase, which is a core component of several complexes mainly involved pre-mRNA splicing and DNA repair. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types.
