Anti-cmt-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the cmt-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the RNMT gene, which encodes RNA guanine-7 methyltransferase. This protein is a known catalytic subunit of the mRNA-capping methyltransferase RNMT:RAMAC complex that methylates the N7 position of the added guanosine to the 5'-cap structure of mRNAs. The human version of cmt-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 476 residues and a protein mass of 54.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. cmt-1 is a member of the mRNA cap 0 methyltransferase protein family.
