Anti-Transglutaminase 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene TGM2 in humans. The transglutaminase 2 protein has an expected mass of 77.3 kDa, but there are 3 reported isoforms. The protein may also be known as transglutaminase 2 (C polypeptide, protein-glutamine-gamma-glutamyltransferase), Tissue Transglutaminase, tTG, tTGas, TG2, and TG(C). Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
