Anti-SLC1A1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 1 member 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 524 amino acid residues and a mass of 57.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Dicarboxylate/amino acid:cation symporter (DAACS) (TC 2.A.23) protein family, SLC1A1 is known to be involved with the apoptotic pathway and brain development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include EAAC1, EAAT3, SCZD18, hEAAC1, excitatory amino acid transporter 3, and DCBXA. SLC1A1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SLC1A1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
