Anti-CSN1S1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein casein alpha s1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 185 amino acid residues and a mass of 21.7 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to have mammary gland specific expression. A member of the Alpha-casein protein family, Csn1s1 is known to have an important role in the capacity of milk to transport calcium phosphate; Casoxin D acts as opioid antagonist and has vasorelaxing activity mediated by bradykinin B1 receptors.
The CSN1S1 marker can be used to identify Cerebral Cortex CA1-3 Neurons and Brain Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include CSN1, alpha-S1-casein, casein, alpha, and CASA. CSN1S1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. A number of Csn1s1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
