Anti-C-mer antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target C-mer is a known alias name of the protein MER proto-oncogene, tyrosine kinase, encoded by the MERTK gene in humans. This 999-amino acid residue protein is a known receptor tyrosine kinase that transduces signals from the extracellular matrix into the cytoplasm by binding to several ligands including LGALS3, TUB, TULP1 or GAS6. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features phosphorylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for C-mer include MER, RP38, and Tyro12. Western Blot is the most common application for the C-mer antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
