Anti-megakaryoblastic leukemia (translocation) 1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target megakaryoblastic leukemia (translocation) 1 is a known alias name of the protein myocardin related transcription factor A, encoded by the MRTFA gene in humans. This 931-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a transcription coactivator that associates with the serum response factor (SRF) transcription factor to control expression of genes regulating the cytoskeleton during development, morphogenesis and cell migration. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for megakaryoblastic leukemia (translocation) 1 include MKL/myocardin-like protein 1, alternative protein MKL1, and basic, SAP, and coiled-coil domain.
