Anti-CHPT1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein choline phosphotransferase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 406 amino acid residues and a mass of 45.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in the testis, colon, small intestine, heart, prostate and spleen. A member of the CDP-alcohol phosphatidyltransferase class-I protein family, CHPT1 is known to catalyze phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis from CDP-choline. Synonyms for this target antigen include cholinephosphotransferase 1 alpha, diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase 1, hCPT1, phosphatidylcholine synthesizing enzyme, and AAPT1-like protein. CHPT1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some CHPT1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunofluorescence is also a common application.
