Anti-Tektin 4 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the TEKT4 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 435 amino acid residues and a mass of 50.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is reported to be highly expressed in spermatozoa. A member of the Tektin protein family, it is a known microtubule inner protein (MIP) part of the dynein-decorated doublet microtubules (DMTs) in cilia and flagellar axoneme. Other names for this target antigen include epididymis secretory sperm binding protein. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some Tektin 4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
