Anti-COL23A1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein collagen type XXIII alpha 1 chain. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 540 amino acid residues and a mass of 51.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. COL23A1 is known to be involved with extracellular matrix organization. Post-translational modifications have been described, including protein cleavage. Synonyms for this target antigen include collagen, type XXIII, alpha 1, procollagen, type XXIII, alpha 1, and collagen alpha-1(XXIII) chain. COL23A1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some COL23A1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunofluorescence are common applications for these antibodies.
