Anti-VPS13B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein vacuolar protein sorting 13 homolog B. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 4022 amino acid residues and a mass of 448.7 kDa. Up to 6 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is widely expressed across many tissue types. A member of the VPS13 protein family, VPS13B is known to mediate the transfer of lipids between membranes at organelle contact sites (By similarity). The VPS13B gene has been associated with the disease, Cohen syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include bridge-like lipid transfer protein family member 5B, vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein 13B, and intermembrane lipid transfer protein VPS13B. VPS13B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some VPS13B antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
