Anti-SSX family member 1 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the SSX1 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 188 amino acid residues and a mass of 21.9 kDa. It is notably expressed at high level in the testis. A member of the SSX protein family, it is suspected to act as a modulator of transcription. Other names for this target antigen include SPGFX5, SSRC, protein SSX1, cancer/testis antigen 5.1, cancer/testis antigen family 5, member 1, and CT5.1. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse and chimpanzee species. Some SSX family member 1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
