Anti-RTL8A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein retrotransposon Gag like 8A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 113 amino acid residues and a mass of 13.2 kDa. It is a member of the FAM127 protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include FAM127B, MAR8A, SIRH6, retrotransposon Gag-like protein 8A, Sushi-Ichi retrotransposon homolog 6, and CXX1b. RTL8A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and chimpanzee species. Some RTL8A antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
