Anti-COX10 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor heme A:farnesyltransferase COX10. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 443 amino acid residues and a mass of 48.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the UbiA prenyltransferase protein family, COX10 is known to be involved with the metabolism of lipids. Synonyms for this target antigen include protoheme IX farnesyltransferase, mitochondrial, COX10 homolog, cytochrome c oxidase assembly protein, heme A: farnesyltransferase, COX10, heme A:farnesyltransferase cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor, and MC4DN3. COX10 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of COX10 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
