Anti-DLG1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein discs large MAGUK scaffold protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 904 amino acid residues and a mass of 100.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane, ER, and cytoplasm. Up to 9 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is found to be highly expressed in atrial myocardium. A member of the MAGUK protein family, DLG1 is known to be an important multidomain scaffolding protein required for normal development (By similarity). DLG1 is also used as a cellular marker for characterizing neuronal cells. Synonyms for this target antigen include SAP-97, SAP97, hdlg, disks large homolog 1, dJ1061C18.1.1, and DLGH1. DLG1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Over 60 citations in the literature describe the use of DLG1 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
