Anti-TAL bHLH transcription factor 1, erythroid differentiation factor antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene TAL1 in humans. The gene may also be known as SCL/tal-1, TCL5, bHLHa17, tal-1, T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia protein 1, and T-cell acute lymphocytic leukemia 1. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 34.3 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, yeast, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
