Anti-VAC14 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein VAC14 component of PIKFYVE complex. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 782 amino acid residues and a mass of 88 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the endosome. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of the VAC14 protein family, VAC14 is known to be involved with signal transduction pathways. The VAC14 gene has been associated with the disease, Striatonigral degeneration. Synonyms for this target antigen include protein VAC14 homolog and Vac14, PIKFYVE complex component. VAC14 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some VAC14 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
