Anti-NPHS1, nephrin antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The NPHS1, nephrin antigen is another term for the human protein NPHS1 adhesion molecule, nephrin, encoded by the NPHS1 gene. The protein is believed to play a role in the development or function of the kidney glomerular filtration barrier. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 1241 residues and a mass of 134.7 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is notably expressed in podocytes of kidney glomeruli. The NPHS1, nephrin protein is a member of the Immunoglobulin protein superfamily. Other alias names for NPHS1, nephrin include CNF, NPHN, and nephrin. Over 70 citations in the literature describe the use of NPHS1, nephrin antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
