Anti-H1-3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein H1.3 linker histone, cluster member. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 221 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and chromosomes. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Histone H1/H5 protein family, H1-3 is known to be involved with the regulation of transcription. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include H1D, H1F3, H1s-2, HIST1H1D, histone H1.3, H1 histone family, member 3, histone 1, H1d, and H1.3. H1-3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species.
