Anti-DLG3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein discs large MAGUK scaffold protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 817 amino acid residues and a mass of 90.3 kDa. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum. A member of the MAGUK protein family, DLG3 is known to be required for learning most likely through its role in synaptic plasticity following NMDA receptor signaling. DLG3 is also used as a cellular marker for characterizing neuronal cells. Synonyms for this target antigen include MRX90, NEDLG, PPP1R82, SAP102, XLID90, XLMR, disks large homolog 3, and MRX. DLG3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of DLG3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
