Anti-Neurofilament light antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene NEFL in humans. The neurofilament light protein has a reported amino acid length of 543 and an expected mass of 61.5 kDa. The protein may also be known as NF68, NFL, neurofilament, light polypeptide, CMT1F, CMT2E, and neurofilament light polypeptide. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
