Anti-Membrane metalloendopeptidase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MME in humans. The gene may also be known as CD10, neprilysin, NEP, CALLA, CMT2T, and atriopeptidase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 85.5 kilodaltons in mass. The MME marker can be used to identify Pro B Progenitor Cells, Basal Forebrain Medium Spiny Neurons, Gray Matter Medium Spiny Neurons, Cerebral Cortex MGE Interneurons, and Lower Rhombic Lip Neurons.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
