20S proteasome antibodies are immunological tools used to detect the 20S core component of the mammalian 26S proteasome complex. Also known as the 20S core particle, this subunit is sandwiched by two 19S regulatory subunits. The 20S consists of four heptameric rings, each consisting of α and β subunits. It is the catalytically active proteasome component with reported chymotrypsin-like, trypsin-like, and peptidylglutamyl-peptide hydrolyzing activities. 20S proteasome antibodies can be used for Western blot, immunocytochemistry, ELISA kits and immunofluorescence.
