Anti-PP17 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PP17 is a known alias name of the protein perilipin 3, encoded by the PLIN3 gene in humans. This 434-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a structural component of lipid droplets, which is required for the formation and maintenance of lipid storage droplets. It is localized to the membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications.
