Anti-CD66e antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CD66e antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CEACAM5 gene, which encodes CEA cell adhesion molecule 5. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and cell adhesion, among other biological roles. The human version of CD66e has a canonical amino acid length of 702 residues and a protein mass of 76.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the rectum, oral mucosa, esophagus, colon, and appendix. This target antigen may also be known as CEA. ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for CD66e antibodies.
