Anti-MMD antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein monocyte to macrophage differentiation associated. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 238 amino acid residues and a mass of 27.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes. A member of the ADIPOR protein family, MMD is reported to be involved in dynamics of lysosomal membranes associated with microglial activation following brain lesion. Synonyms for this target antigen include MMD1, PAQR11, monocyte to macrophage differentiation factor, macrophage maturation-associated, and MMA. MMD gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Indicated applications for MMD antibodies listed below include ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence.
