Anti-PCDHA6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein protocadherin alpha 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 950 amino acid residues and a mass of 102.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and is secreted. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the fallopian tube, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum. PCDHA6 is known to be involved with cell adhesion and nervous system development. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include KIAA0345-like 8 and PCDH-alpha-6. PCDHA6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and bovine species. Western Blot is the most common application for the PCDHA6 antibodies listed below. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
