Anti-MYO5C antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein myosin VC. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1742 amino acid residues and a mass of 202.8 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is noted to be expressed chiefly in non-neuronal tissues. A member of the Myosin protein family, Myo5c is suspected to be involved in transferrin trafficking. Synonyms for this target antigen include unconventional myosin-Vc and myosin 5C. MYO5C gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the Myo5c antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
