Anti-HBM antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hemoglobin subunit mu. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 141 amino acid residues and a mass of 15.6 kDa. It is reported to be expressed in erythroid tissues. It is a member of the Globin protein family. The HBM marker can be used to identify Erythroid Lineage Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include HBK, alpha globin pseudogene 2, hemoglobin mu chain, hemoglobin, alpha pseudogene 2, hemoglobin, mu, and HBAP2. HBM gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the HBM antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
