Anti-SRY box 18 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SRY box 18 is a known alias name of the protein SRY-box transcription factor 18, encoded by the SOX18 gene in humans. This 384-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a transcriptional activator that binds to the consensus sequence 5'-AACAAAG-3' in the promoter of target genes and plays an essential role in embryonic cardiovascular development and lymphangiogenesis. It is localized to the nucleus of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in fetal lung, placenta, skeletal muscle, liver, kidney, spleen, prostate, ovary, msosmall intestine and colon. Other synonyms for SRY box 18 include HLTRS, HLTS, and transcription factor SOX-18. Indicated applications for SRY box 18 antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunofluorescence.
