Anti-ST8 alpha-N-acetylneuraminate alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 3 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ST8 alpha-N-acetylneuraminate alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 3 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ST8SIA3 gene, which encodes ST8 alpha-N-acetyl-neuraminide alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 3. This protein is known to function in protein glycosylation, among other biological roles. The human version of ST8 alpha-N-acetylneuraminate alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 3 has a canonical amino acid length of 380 residues and a protein mass of 44 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the Golgi of cells and notably expressed in the caudate and cerebellum. ST8 alpha-N-acetylneuraminate alpha-2,8-sialyltransferase 3 is a member of the Glycosyltransferase 29 protein family.
