Anti-SIMC1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein SUMO interacting motifs containing 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 872 amino acid residues and a mass of 96.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. SIMC1 is reported to inhibit the protease activity of CAPN3. Synonyms for this target antigen include oocyte maturation associated 1, platform element for inhibition of autolytic degradation, and SUMO-interacting motif-containing protein 1. SIMC1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. These SIMC1 antibodies are widely used in ELISA experiments, among other applications.
