Anti-RERG antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein RAS like estrogen regulated growth inhibitor. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 199 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in fetal brain, placenta, lung, liver, skin, kidney and pancreas. A member of the Ras protein family, RERG is known to bind GDP/GTP and possesses intrinsic GTPase activity. Synonyms for this target antigen include ras-related and estrogen-regulated growth inhibitor. RERG gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some RERG antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
