Anti-ST6GALNAC2, alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 2 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target ST6GALNAC2, alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 2 is a known alias name of the protein ST6 N-acetylgalactosaminide alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 2, encoded by the ST6GALNAC2 gene in humans. This 374-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the transfer of N-acetylneuraminyl groups onto glycan chains in glycoproteins. It is localized to the Golgi of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in skeletal muscle, heart, kidney, placenta, lung and leukocytes.
