Anti-SLC7A4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 7 member 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 635 amino acid residues and a mass of 68.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. It is notably expressed in the testis, hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and caudate. A member of the Cationic amino acid transporter (CAT) (TC 2.A.3.3) protein family, SLC7A4 is reported to be involved in transport of the cationic amino acids (arginine, lysine and ornithine). Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include CAT4, HCAT3, VH, cationic amino acid transporter 4, Ig heavy chain variable region, and CAT-4. SLC7A4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some SLC7A4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
