Anti-SLC7A3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 7 member 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 619 amino acid residues and a mass of 67.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is reported to be highly expressed in thymus, uterus and testis. A member of the Cationic amino acid transporter (CAT) (TC 2.A.3.3) protein family, SLC7A3 is a reported uniporter that mediates the uptake of cationic L-amino acids such as L-arginine, L-lysine and L-ornithine. Post-translational modifications have been described, including N-glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include solute carrier family 7 (cationic amino acid transporter, y+ system), member 3, and cationic amino acid transporter 3. SLC7A3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some SLC7A3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
