Anti-SLC13A3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 13 member 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 602 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 6 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the kidney and placenta. A member of the SLC13A/DASS transporter (TC 2.A.47) protein family, SLC13A3 is known to be involved with the metabolism of lipids. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The SLC13A3 marker can be used to identify Proximal Tubule Segment 2 Epithelial Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include Na(+)-coupled carboxylate transporter 3, hNaDC3, naDC-3, sodium-dependent high affinity dicarboxylate transporter 3, and Na(+)/dicarboxylate cotransporter 3. SLC13A3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
