Anti-PLAAT5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein phospholipase A and acyltransferase 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 279 amino acid residues and a mass of 30.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the H-rev107 protein family, PLAAT5 is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Synonyms for this target antigen include H-rev107-like protein 5, HRAS like suppressor family member 5, HRAS-like suppressor 5, calcium-independent phosphatidylethanolamine N-acyltransferase, and Ca(2+)-independent N-acyltransferase. PLAAT5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species.
