Anti-MPP2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein MAGUK p55 scaffold protein 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 576 amino acid residues and a mass of 64.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 6 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the epididymis, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, caudate, and breast. A member of the MAGUK protein family, MPP2 is known to be involved with protein oligomerization. Synonyms for this target antigen include MAGUK p55 subfamily member 2, discs large, homolog 2, membrane palmitoylated protein 2, membrane protein, palmitoylated 2 (MAGUK p55 subfamily member 2), and DLG2. MPP2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MPP2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
