Anti-SLC25A5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 25 member 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 298 amino acid residues and a mass of 32.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is reported to be expressed in erythrocytes. A member of the Mitochondrial carrier (TC 2.A.29) protein family, SLC25A5 is reported to be an ADP:ATP antiporter that mediates import of ADP into the mitochondrial matrix for ATP synthesis, and export of ATP out to fuel the cell (By similarity). Post-translational modifications have been described, including methylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include AAC2, T2, T3, ADP/ATP translocase 2, and 2F1. SLC25A5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SLC25A5 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
