Anti-PNPLA3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein patatin like phospholipase domain containing 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 481 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the kidney. PNPLA3 is known to be involved with insulin signaling pathways and the metabolism of lipids. The PNPLA3 gene has been associated with the disease, Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Synonyms for this target antigen include acylglycerol O-acyltransferase, acylglycerol transacylase, adiponutrin, calcium-independent phospholipase A2-epsilon, iPLA2-epsilon, and 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase PNPLA3. PNPLA3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. A number of PNPLA3 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
