Anti-HP1BP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein heterochromatin protein 1 binding protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 553 amino acid residues and a mass of 61.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. HP1BP3 is known to be a component of heterochromatin that maintains heterochromatin integrity during G1/S progression and regulates the duration of G1 phase to critically influence cell proliferative capacity. Synonyms for this target antigen include HP1-BP74 and HP1BP74. HP1BP3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some HP1BP3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
