Anti-H2AB1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein H2A.B variant histone 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 115 amino acid residues and a mass of 12.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. A member of the Histone H2A protein family, H2AB1 is known to be involved with mRNA processing. Synonyms for this target antigen include H2A Barr body-deficient, H2A histone family member B1, and histone H2A-Bbd type 1. H2AB1 gene orthologs have been reported in the bovine and chimpanzee species.
