Anti-Shugoshin 1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene SGO1 in humans. The shugoshin 1 protein has an expected mass of 64.2 kDa, but there are 7 reported isoforms. The protein may also be known as Shugoshin-like 1, CAID, NY-BR-85, SGO, SGOL1, and serologically defined breast cancer antigen NY-BR-85. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including yeast, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
