Anti-APOBEC4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme catalytic polypeptide like 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 367 amino acid residues and a mass of 41.6 kDa. It is reported to be highly expressed in the testis. A member of the Cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase protein family, APOBEC4 is known to be involved with mRNA processing. Synonyms for this target antigen include apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme, catalytic polypeptide-like 4 (putative), and putative C->U-editing enzyme APOBEC-4. APOBEC4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some APOBEC4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
